Our core offer centres around a weekly evening GP clinic, and wider health and wellbeing support for young people aged 11-25.
This is supported by the wraparound support of the team of Young Hackney Youth Workers at the Hub.
We are pleased to announce that the Health Spot GP (Thursdays, 5-7pm) is now accessible to all young people registered with a City and Hackney GP practice. Previously, this service was limited to those within the London Fields Primary Care Network.
Health Spot offers support for young people's physical, mental, social, and sexual health needs or anything else they are worried about. Typically, each Health Spot referral will start with an appointment with our Health Spot GP involving a holistic health assessment and a coordinated care plan. Health Spot City and Hackney welcomes referrals for and from young people regarding any concerns they may have, some common reasons might include period health, isolation, low mood, acne, weight, sexual health, general health advice. The wider in-house offer alongside the GP includes:
Family Action CYP Mental Health Hub (1:1 and group work support for emotional wellbeing and mental health)
Homerton Sexual Health Service (contraception, STI tests, advice, etc.)
Young Hackney’s Universal Programme (youth activities including roller skating, podcasting, arts etc.)
Employment Advice
Gloji SmokeFree (support to quit smoking and vaping)
Substance Misuse Service (advice and support around drugs and alcohol use)
Health & Wellbeing team (engaging drop-ins with information on youth health and wellbeing)
